A man found gravely wounded after a shooting in north Minneapolis died early Sunday at North Memorial Hospital.
The shooting took place Saturday at 8:20 p.m. on North Aldrich Avenue between west Broadway and 21st Avenue.
"We understood how serious his injuries were, so we had homicide investigators respond out to the scene," said MPD spokesman John Elder.
This is the 25th reported homicide in Minneapolis in 2019.
"We have one chance at investigating an actual crime scene," Elder said. "Before anything gets moved, or altered, or damaged, we made sure that our homicide team did get out there and be able to observe everything.
Police say the man was in his 20's and was outdoors when he was shot.
There are no arrests and the victim's name is not revealed.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers of Minnesota.
