The Minnesota man who's charged in the shooting deaths of his parents expressed thoughts of killing them when he was in a mental health treatment facility, according to records filed in the case in Todd County.
22-year-old Dylan Bennett is in court Monday in Long Prairie following his arrest in Mexico and extradition earlier this week.
Investigators say Barry and Carol Bennett are believed to have been shot and killed last Monday, with their bodies found two days later in their home in Long Prairie.
Carol Bennett was reportedly shot in the back and Barry Bennett was shot in the torso and head.
Both were 63 years old.

According to a criminal complaint, Barry Bennett told authorities about his son's murderous thoughts last December.
Barry Bennett played 11 years in the NFL, his last season coming in 1988 with the Vikings.
He was a prep football standout at Long Prairie and played college ball at Concordia in Moorhead.
Dylan Bennett was considered a suspect in the killings after his car was found abandoned, with a box for a gun and ammunition found inside.
He was traced to Mexico, and arrested in Cancun on Saturday.
Records show Dylan Bennett was booked into the Todd County jail early Monday morning.
