The Minnesota Wild are hiring Bill Guerin as their next general manager.

Michael Russo of The Athletic first reported the hire Wednesday.

— Michael Russo (@RussoHockey) August 21, 2019Guerin, who's currently assistant general manager of the Pittsburgh Penguins and general manager of the Penguins AHL affiliate, played 18 seasons in the NHL and was a member of two Stanley Cup winning teams.
He will replace Paul Fenton, who was fired by Wild owner Craig Leipold after only one season as general manager.
A news conference is planned for Thursday.
