The Minnesota Department of Health says there are now 235 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Minnesota, up 66 cases from Sunday's figures, and double Friday's total of 115 positive tests.

Among the counties reporting their first cases, Benton, Big Stone, Jackson, and Rainville. Most cases have been centered in the Twin Cities — Hennepin County has 89 cases while Ramsey County has 24, and Olmstead next at 16.

The growing number of cases reflects both the spread of the virus and increased testing, with the Mayo Clinic helping the state to clear out a backlog of cases awaiting tests.
