At least three people were sent to the hospital for smoke inhalation and are expected to survive.

Calls for donations received a massive response on Wednesday. Hundreds turned out to donate things like diapers, socks, mittens, blankets, and other items. In fact donations came in at such a rapid response Wednesday that officials had to stop accepting them.

There are ways to donate including:
  • The Minnesota Red Cross is accepting donations here
  • Minneapolis mayor Jacob Frey announced on Wednesday that the Minneapolis Foundation has set up a fund specifically for those displaced by the fire. You can donate to the Minneapolis Foundation here.

Those displaced by the fire are staying at the nearby Bethlehem Baptist Church for the next few nights.

More than 200 residents and families were displaced after the devastating fire at the Drake Hotel early this morning. We’ve activated the Minnesota Helps Fund to support the immediate & long-term needs of those impacted. To donate, text DRAKEFIRE to 243725
