"Hi! My name is Tim!"
That's the greeting heard by many students at Sheridan Hills Elementary School in Richfield on Tuesday, the first day of class.
Those words came from Tim Walz.
As in Gov. Tim Walz, the former high school teacher who took time to greet the kids as they came off school buses and made their way into the school building.
"It is taking the spirit of the first day of school and tapping into it for an entire school year is one of the best ways to ground yourself as a teacher and a learner," Ricker said.
Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan is also involved on Tuesday, serving lunch to students at Lowell Elementary School in Duluth.
