ESPN's College Gameday announces celebrity guest picker

Minnesota Gophers

And the celebrity picker for College Gameday at the U tomorrow is...

He currently holds the the Gophers’ all-time record for catches and receiving yards, is a graduate of Rocori High School in Cold Spring and played for Minnesota from 2006 to 2009.

The answer is 8-year NFL veteran wide receiver Eric Decker. Gameday host Rece David broke the news in front of media at the Athletes Village indoor practice facility Friday.

"We wanted to be able to capture the sense of what it's like to be here," Davis said. "Someone who identifies well with the team, the university and with the region. He's willing to come sit in the snow and make picks with us so that's always a good sign."

The 8th-ranked Gophers take on the No. 12 Badgers hoping to keep possession of the axe for conssecutive games for the first time since 1993-94. A win would give them their first 11-win season since 1904 and their first Big Ten title game appearance while keeping them in the discussion for the College Football Playoff, depending on how they perform against the Ohio State Buckeyes in that title game.

Decker and the entire Gameday crew will pick the winners of each game Saturday in the final segment. This is the first Gameday broadcast at Minnesota. The show runs from 8 to 11 a.m.

Davis said even with the Thanksgiving break he's starting to feel the anticipation around campus.
