The Gopher men's hockey team won its fifth straight game Saturday night, getting goals from four different players in a 4-2 win at Wisconsin to sweep the two-game weekend series in Madison.
Jared Moe of Holy Family Catholic High School made 25 saves for the Gophers (12-10-4, 7-5-4-3 Big Ten), who have swept their last two Big Ten series after taking two from Ohio State last weekend.
Robbie Stucker of St. Thomas Academy snapped a 1-1 tie with a power play goal in the second period, with Sammy Walker of Edina and Scott Reedy of Shattuck-St. Mary's scoring in the third to build an insurmountable lead.
Former Blaine standout Bryce Brodzinki started off the scoring with a goal halfway through the first period, only to have Cole Caufield tie the score for the Badgers less than five minutes later.
The Gophers outscored Wisconsin (10-15-1, 5-12-1-1) 10-4 in the weekend sweep at Kohl Center, with Brodskinski and Walker both finding the net in each game.
The Gophers beat the Badgers three times this season, with Wisconsin taking a shootout victory in a late November matchup at Mariucci Arena.
With the wins, the Gophers are within a point of Big Ten co-leaders Ohio State and Penn State. The league's top five teams are separated by a point with about a month left in the regular season.
Next up for the Gophers is a weekend home series against Michigan State, which is also one point off the league lead.
