The final three months of 2019 were the best for Amy Klobuchar's Democratic presidential campaign fund-raising.
The announcement comes one month before the Iowa presidential caucus, the nation's first balloting in the 2020 campaign for the White House.
But her best fund-raising quarter was still far behind others in the race.
Klobuchar, Minnesota's senior US Senator, says she raised $11.4 million dollars during October, November, and December 2019.
Campaign manager Justin Buoen said Friday a "massive surge in grassroots support" thanks to strong performances in fall debates helped the campaign invest in early voting states.
During the same time period, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders raised $34.5 million, former two-term South Bend, Ind. mayor Bete Buttigieg $24.7 million, and former vice president Joe Biden $22.7 million.
Klobuchar has spent much of her time campaigning in Iowa, which holds the nation's first presidential caucus on February 3.
