US Senator and Democratic presidential candidate Amy Klobuchar is cautioning that the death of IS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi does not mean the end of the terrorist group.

Appearing on the CBS program "Face the Nation," Klobuchar praised the American troops on the raid that lead to al-Baghdadi's death.

"This was a take-down of a very, very dangerous terrorist," said Klobuchar. "We have to take this moment to thank those who put themselves in danger."

She called the decision to move forward with the raid "A good one."

No American troops died in the operation that took place Saturday in Syria.

"This doesn't mean IS isn't still there," Klobuchar said. "We still have over 100 of the IS fighters that the defense secretary has said got out recently of their confinement. Then we have others that are in a prison and it's unclear who's going to be guarding their prison."

The action comes after President pulled US troops out of northern Syria, a move that has brought him criticism.

"Just because you make some decisions, and you must as a commander in chief, and you must make those decisions for the security of this country, doesn't mean that his foreign policy, overall, has not been a disaster," Klobuchar said.
