Officials with the Minnesota Department of Health on Saturday reported 143 more COVID-19 cases in Minnesota, including 10 additional deaths since Friday.

Total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases stands at 2,213 with 121 deaths. So far, 44,368 Minnesotans have been tested for the disease, 42,155 of those tests have come back negative.

239 people COVID-19 patients remain in the hospital, with 111 of them listed in intensive care units. MDH said that 1,118 patients have recovered from the virus and no longer need to be isolated.

Saturday's report comes after Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz announced new guidance for outdoor activities, including the Saturday reopening of golf courses statewide. That announcement took place on the same day when a group of protesters gathered outside the Governor's Residence in St. Paul.  The protesters called for Governor Walz to lift the Stay at Home order so people can go back to work.

Governor Walz has said repeatedly that the point of the stay-at-home order is limiting the spread of COVID-19 cases so the state's health care system can handle the load.  Something that up to this point has worked with Minnesota ranking the lowest in per-capita cases in the U.S.
