The number of coronavirus fatalities in Minnesota is now 111 out of 2071 total laboratory-confirmed cases.
It's the first time the death toll has reached triple digits, and the first time the total cases have passed 2,000.
The number released Friday by the Minnesota Department of Health represents 17 more deaths, the state's highest one-day rise since the pandemic began, and 159 more cases from a day earlier.
There are 518 patients who have recovered, and 106 of the current 223 hospitalizations are in intensive care.
