MN DPS: No documentation needed to leave your home during stay at home order

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety says they're receiving numerous questions about whether or not people need to carry documentation, or a letter, to be outside during Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz's stay at home order.

The simple answer to that question? No.

According to the Governor's website, "You are not required to carry any paperwork when you are traveling to and from your place of employment, or anywhere else. All Minnesotans are urged to voluntarily comply with this Executive Order."

Saturday is the first official day of the order which runs through April 10 at 5 p.m.

State officials on Saturday the fifth COVID-19 related death in Minnesota as the number of confirmed cases continue to rise.
