Two men suffered non-life threatening injuries after a pair of shootings Friday night and Saturday morning in St. Paul.
The first shooting happened around 8:45 p.m. Friday on the 1300 block of Sherburne Avenue. The second happened around 3:45 a.m. Saturday in the 500 block of York Avenue in the Payne-Phalen neighborhood. Police were called to that area because of several fights going on in the street. That's where they found a man who'd been shot. Both men were transported to area hospitals and no arrests have been made.
These latest shootings continue a violent week in St. Paul. Three people were shot in killed in a span of nine hours Monday into Tuesday. It prompted St. Paul police chief Todd Axtell to address the violenc via social media.

September 10, 2019 A pair of 15-year-olds have been arrested in one of the killings on the city's North End. In another shooting, a Good Samaritan was gunned down after trying to help at the scene of a two-vehicle accident.

September 10, 2019 The victim was identified as Javier Sanmiguel, 31, of St. Paul. Police say Sanmiguel checked on the scene of the crash between a woman and Lionel Keejuan Eaton, 27. As Sanmiguel came to help the drivers, Eaton began firing from his car, striking Sanmiguel in the head and killing him.
Eaton is charged with second- and third-degree murder in the death of Sanmiguel.
