A crowd calling for justice for Myon Burell, now in jail for the shooting death of an 11-year-old girl, forced the cancellation of Amy Klobuchar's presidential campaign rally Sunday night in the Twin Cities west metro.

March 2, 2020 Supporters of Amy Klobuchar were already inside the St, Louis Park High School gymnasium when the protesters surged en masse.
More than half an hour later, Klobuchar campaign manager Justin Buoen announced the rally was canceled.
"Very disappointed about what happened," said Buoen. "She was in the room ready to meet with (the protesters) and then they changed the terms and decided they didn't want to meet with her."
Nakima Levy-Pounds, the former NAACP local president who spoke for the protesters, said it was Klobuchar who backed out of the meeting.
"I think that's indicative of the lack of commitment to justice for Myon as we've been seeing all along, and it's really unfortunate," she said.

March 2, 2020 While Klobuchar reportedly does want to meet with Burrell's family members, she's now in the middle of more out of state campaigning in advance of Super Tuesday.
Klobuchar was Hennepin County attorney originally prosecuted the case against Burell.
He was later convicted in a second trial when Mike Freeman was Hennepin County attorney.
The case has become a major topic while Klobuchar campaigns for the presidency.
