Authorities say two officers with the Brooklyn Center Police Department fired their weapons in a confrontation last week that killed a 21-year-old man.
According to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, officers Brandon Akers and Cody Turner discharged their Tasers and firearms in the incident on Aug. 31
The Hennepin County medical examiner determined Kobe Edgar Dimock-Heisler died of multiple gunshot wounds.
The BCA also determined that officer Steven Holt discharged his Taser.
Alers has been with the Brooklyn Center Police Department for eight years, while Turner is a ten-year veteran of the agency.
Holt has been with the department for five years.
According to the report, the officers responded to the home on Halifax Avenue following a 911 call from a family member about a domestic incident involving a man armed with a hammer and knife.
The man reportedly was fighting with his grandparents inside the house.
Family members say Dimock-Heisler lived with his grandparents and had autism.
The BCA says Tasers were ineffective against Dimock-Heisler, who produced a knife before he was shot by the officers. A knife was recovered at the scene.
Officials say the Hennepin County attorney's officer will review the case when the investigation is complete.
