More than 30 cats and kittens are safe after being removed from a home in Bloomington

Police say they worked with investigators at the Animal Humane Society as they coordinated the release of these cats from a woman who had become overwhelmed by the number of animals in her home. Bloomington Animal Control Department then transferred the 36 cats to the Animal Humane Society for evaluation, medical care, and adoption.

“We appreciate the Bloomington Police Department’s work on this case and for reaching out to AHS as a partner to ensure these cats receive the care they need before being adopted into new homes,” said Keith Streff, Principal Humane Agent. “Our goal is to provide animal welfare support to local authorities whenever they request our assistance.”
