Police in Maplewood are asking the public’s help in the search for the driver of a car that hit and killed a man on Saturday night.
It happened about 8:30 p.m. in the 1200 block of Lakewood Drive North in Maplewood.
“Officers and medics arrived on-scene and found (the victim) severely injured,” said Maplewood police sergeant Joe Steiner. “He was shortly thereafter pronounced dead from injuries from the accident.”
Steiner said someone in a different car may have witnessed the collision, but then left the scene.
Police would like that driver and the person who hit the pedestrian to come forward.
Steiner said the car that struck the man likely has heavy front-end damage, and anyone who sees something like that is asked to contact Maplewood police.
