A divorce filing submitted Tuesday in Washington D.C. claims a married man left his relationship due to his love for Rep. Ilhan Omar.
Dr. Beth Mynett says her husband, Tim Mynett, informed her in April that he had been seeing Omar and that he was in love with her. Omar was a client of Mynett's.
Omar told WCCO's Esme Murphy on Tuesday that she's not separated from her husband and isn't seeing anyone.
"No, I am not. Like I said on Monday, I really have no interest in allowing the conversation about my personal life to continue," Omar said.
It's the latest controversy surrounding the freshman congresswoman, whose faced question about her marriages and comments about Israel, which have been viewed by some as anti-Semitic.
Despite negative press, Omar is focused on moving forward.
"I have three beautiful little children and a family to care for," Omar said. "So for me, my focus is really in doing the work I feel that I was destined to do."
