Robbinsdale school district closes over coronavirus concerns

At least one Minnesota school district called off classes Friday directly because of concerns over the coronavirus outbreak.  

Administrators with the Robbinsdale school district released a statement Friday morning that they made the decisions as a precautionary measure.  

Please be advised, as a precautionary measure due to COVID-19, Robbinsdale Area Schools will be closed today, Friday, March 13, 2020. All Adventure Club sites, Early childhood, ECFE classes, Adult Academic Program classes, after-school activities, and practices are canceled.

Also closed in the Robbinsdale school district are all Adventure Club sites, Early childhood, E-C-F-E classes, Adult Academic Program classes, after-school activities, and practices.

The Robbinsdale district includes Armstrong and Cooper high schools, as well as three middle schools and 11 elementary schools.

There are about 12,000 students from kindergarden through 12th grade in the Robbinsdale school district.
