One of Minnesota's most historic light sources is illuminated again, this time the beacon that guided so many to save voyages promoting solidarity to weather the storm of the coronavirus outbreak.
Split Rock Lighthouse on Lake Superior's north shore was lit for three hours Friday night, the display streamed live on Facebook.
The lighthouse was first operational in 1910 and was a key navigational marker for Lake Superior vessels.
It's usually illuminated only once a year, on the November 10th anniversary of the Edmund Fitzgerald sinking.
