A man was found fatally injured in an alleyway in St. Paul's Frogtown neighborhood on Sunday night, and police have arrested a teenager in the city's 19th reported homicide of 2020.

"It doesn't mean the investigation is over, we still have a lot of work to do," said St. Paul police spokesman Steve Linders.

Police were called at 11:15 p.m. Sunday about a fight between two people, with the victim found just south of the intersection of Edmund Ave. and St. Albans St.

Crews tried live-saving measures, but the man died at the scene.

The teenager who was taken to St. Paul police headquarters for questioning and arrested several hours later was one of three other people who were found at the scene by officers.

Police believe the suspect and the victim new each other.

"We're investigating it as a domestic," said Linders.

Charges are expected from the Ramsey County attorney's office.

There are no names released, and the Ramsey County coroner's office will determine the cause of death.

"The nature of the injuries and how they occurred are still under investigation," said Linders. "Obviously, they were severe and they cost the victim his life."
