Friday fundraiser helping Minnesotans pay basic bills

Stand for MN

A daylong fundraiser running until midnight Friday will help Minnesotans facing eviction or disconnection notices.

The 30-Days Foundation is hosting Stand for Minnesota. It asks for donations ranging from $1 to $10. Twin Cities musician Mick Sterling founded the 30-Days Foundation and spoke with Dave Lee during the Morning News on Friday.

"We are in a very unique timeframe right now and people are going to need some help," Sterling said. "Getting a disconnection notice or eviction notice is going to add to that burden."

The total amount donated Friday will get split into thirds. One-third will go the PRISM in Golden Valley, one-third will go to the Angel Foundation in Mendota Heights, and one-third will remain with the 30-Days Foundation.

"This could be a gigantic, historic donation day for Minnesota," Sterling said. "That's very intriguing to me to see what could be raised in 24-hours through this simple form."
