One is dead and another is in custody following an early-morning shooting in Bloomington.

Police were called to the 8300 block of 15th Avenue about 11:00 p.m. Sunday on a report that someone was barricaded inside a home.

A woman was found dead in a car parked inside a garage, while a 12-year-old girl is in critical condition and a 29-year-old woman is in stable condition.

The two victims who are hospitalized are sisters, according to police, but the man who fired the gun is not believed to be their father.

Police believe the suspect was firing his gun from inside the basement of the home, and one of the Bloomington officers returned fire.

The 48-year-old man was taken into custody and was not injured.

The all-clear was given in the neighborhood around 3:00 a.m. Monday.

Police had urged residents to lock their doors and take cover for safety during the standoff.

Police are on scene of a barricaded subject in the 8300 block of 15th Avenue. We are asking residents in that immediate area to stay in your house and if possible go to your basement.
