Spring training is just around the corner and the Twins will take at least one game outside of Florida.

MLB announced Wednesday the Twins and Detroit Tigers will face off Sat., March 7 in the Dominican Republic, the first Major League game in the country since Spring Training 2000. That game will also be broadcast live on News Talk 830 WCCO beginning at 10:30a.m. central time.

Entering last season, players from the island nation made up more than 10 percent of Major League baseball players and represent the highest total of international players. The game is at Estadio Quisqueya Juan Marichal in Santo Domingo.

On the Twins' roster Nelson Cruz, Miguel Sano and Jorge Polanco hail from the Dominican Republic.
