No charges will be filed in Douglas County Wisconsin in the Jayme Closs case.

A Statement from Douglas County District Attorney, Mark Fruehauf released Friday said: “A prosecutor's decision whether to file criminal charges involves the consideration of multiple factors, including the existence of other charges and victim-related concerns."

The announcement means details about Jayme’s 88-day captivity in Douglas County will unlikely be revealed and it indicates prosecutors in Barron County have a strong case against Jayme’s abductor that could result in a conviction and a life sentence.

Douglas County is where Jake Patterson, 21, allegedly held 13-year-old Jayme. According to investigators, Patterson kept her under a bed secured with laundry bins and weights when he would leave the residence, sometimes for hours.

Patterson is charged in Barron County for the October 15 murder of Jayme's parents, and for the kidnapping of Jayme.

Jayme managed to escape from a home in Gordon, Wisconsin on January 10 and run to help.

The Douglas County district attorney did retain the right to charge Patterson on a later date, within the statute of limitations.
