The University of St. Thomas remains in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conferece, for now.
According to a statement on the MIAC website, presidents of the 13 league schools met yesterday to discuss philosophy, competition, and membership issues, but decided not to take any action.
The presidents did agree to continue discussions on membership issues at future meetings
There have been reports that some schools wanted to expel St. Thomas, which has the league's largest enrollment.
Many feel by having more students results in the school's dominance in athletics.
The meeting comes after St. Thomas drew criticism after beating St. Olaf 97-0. That game happened in the 2017 season while St. Thomas won its third straight league championship.
Last season, St. Thomas finished third in the MIAC football standings, but also scored more than 60 points four times against league opponents.
St. Thomas has been a member of the league since it was founded in 1920.
The MIAC school presidents have their regular meeting on May 29th.
