You know who has no problem with this cold? A few animals at the Minnesota Zoo in Apple Valley.
“The animals that are outside, are outside because they can tolerate those temps,” said Tony Fischer, Director of Animal Collections. “They’ve evolved to survive in really cold climates. In fact, some animals really thrive in these conditions like camels, muskox, and bison. Doesn’t faze these guys.”
However, it does faze humans. That’s why the zoo closed it’s outdoor trails on Tuesday and Wednesday to see the tigers, bison and muskox.
“We don’t want the visitors to wander out there and get out in the windy areas, and get frostbite,” said Fischer.
