UPDATED: BCA investigating officer involved shooting in north Minneapolis

Minneapolis police are on the scene of an officer-involved shooting that took place early Friday morning.

MPD spokesman John Elder says officers received a Shot Spotter activation in the area of 24th and Emerson Avenue North around 2:50 a.m. and subsequent phone calls about a woman who had been shot.

No officers were hurt in the confrontation, and officers' body cameras were activated.

The man's body remained in the street until the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension's Crime Unit arrived around 5:30am, according to WCCO Radio's Al Schoch who is on the scene.

Elder says the BCA is now in charge of the investigation and that MPD will "cooperate completely with it."
