Minneapolis Police are investigating a fatal shooting that took place Sunday afternoon near downtown.
Officers responded to a report of two people shot on 7th Street at Lyndale Avenue North.
When officers arrived, the found two men had been shot. One was deceased while the other was suffering from critical injuries. The injured victim was transported to an area hospital by paramedics.
Preliminary information is that two vehicles were involved in this incident. One vehicle, after opening fire, fled the scene prior to officers arrival.
Investigators from the Minneapolis Police Department Homicide Unit interviewed people at the scene and are following up on leads. No one is in custody.
The Minneapolis Police Department Crime Lab responded and processed the scene, collecting evidence for further analysis.
