One person is dead following a house fire Tuesday morning in Woodbury.
Crews were called to the home on the 300 block of Meadow Lane before 6:30 a.m. after a neighbor called 911.
"They began suppression efforts from the outside, made entry into the house, and when they did so, they located an adult inside, deceased," said Cmdr. John Altman of the Woodbury Public Safety Department.
It's not known how the fire started and there's no identification of the person whose body was found inside the home. No one else was inside the building at the time of the fire.
The fire was out before 8:00 a.m. and the state investigators are on the scene to find out how the fire started.
This is the tenth reported fatality by fire in the state this year, according to the state fire marshal's office.
Last year, the 36 reported fire deaths in Minnesota were the lowest total since 2009 and a 47 percent drop from 2017.
The 68 reported fire deaths in 2017 was the most in the state in 22 years.
