The man charged with kidnapping 13-year-old Jayme Closs and murdering her parents has been transferred out of the Barron County Jail.

Twenty-one-year-old Jake Patterson was arrested Thursday not long after the teen escaped his home in the northwest Wisconsin town of Gordon. Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said Patterson was moved to adjacent Polk County Monday night, calling it an "administrative decision."

Fitzgerald confirmed that one of Jayme's relatives works at the Barron County facility. He said no one threatened Patterson and he will be jailed in Barron County for court appearances. Patterson is charged with two counts of intentional homicide, one count of kidnapping and one count of armed burglary, and more charges could be filed, according to prosecutors.

Patterson's grandfather, Jim Moyer, tells ABC News that the defendant is "quiet and shy," a "nice boy, polite," who "backed off from crowds," and thought "computer games were more of a priority than social interaction." Moyer says the family is "absolutely heartbroken."

Meanwhile, authorities are deciding what to do with a $50,000 reward offered for information of Closs's whereabouts. The FBI offered a $25,000 reward nine days after Jayme's alleged abduction. The Jennie-O Turkey Store, where James and Denise Closs worked for decades, added $25,000. Fitzgerald says the reward is being discussed with the FBI and will be determined later.
