Do the coming cold temperatures have you feeling a little anxious as well as litter curious? Well, then you can count WCCO Radio host and meteorologist Paul Douglas as a fellow traveler.
“I think part of me is is horrified... the other half of me is curious. What is 28 below going to feel like with a 50 below windchill? That happens maybe once every 30 years. Anybody under the age of 25 has never experienced this level of cold in Minnesota. We pride ourselves on being able to weather any kind of weather, this is way above and beyond a couple of orders of magnitude more severe than a typical Arctic front.
Douglas added that for much of the state, tomorrow will be the coldest day since Groundhog Day of 1996, when the city of Tower, on the Iron Range, hit 60 below, and the temperature in the Twin Cites cities hit 32 below.

“What's that old saying? Nothing between Minnesota and the North Pole, but a barbed wire fence? That point will become apparent tomorrow morning,” he said.
