Seven more people were dismissed from the jury pool Thursday in the murder trial of former Minneapolis police officer Mohamed Noor.

The winnowing down of potential jurors comes as Hennepin County Judge Kathleen Quaintance prepares to hear arguments from media organizations over trial limits the agencies feel interfere with the First Amendment.

The motion made by the StarTribune, CBS, MPR, and FOX takes place at 3:00 p.m. Friday in the Hennepin County Courthouse.

The judge earlier decided to withhold evidence from the public that she felt was too graphic.

That includes police body camera footage taken immediately after the shooting, as well as autopsy photos.

“It is crucial to the case,” Quaintance said of the videos in question. “It is highly emotional and will be possibly one of the most dramatic moments of the trial. It is footage of a human being dying.”

When the shooting of Justine Ruszczyk Damond happened on July 15, 2017, body cameras of Noor and his partner were not operating.

There were prospective jurors when selection started on Monday, and 23 have now been excused from the trial.

Damond was shot and killed after she approached Noor's squad car.

Noor is charged with second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.
