Tensions are boiling over at the 5th Police Precinct, with rubber bullets and tear gas being launched by the police. More than 350 members of the national guard and police arrived in force to try and quell the protestors, who have reportedly been trying to find gasoline and launch fireworks at the precinct for the past hour. The police are allegedly holding back, unless someone is "affecting the integrity of the fence.”
More protestors are arriving on the scene as well, a sign that law enforcement’s deterrence efforts have yet to take hold.
Several fires have been set in the area, but the precinct itself hasn’t been set on fire.
