Travel concerns due to coronavirus mean fewer people are flying, and now, Twin Cities-based Sun Country is cutting flights as a result.  The airline is reducing the frequencies of flights between MSP and 14 destinations. Experts are worried that this will become a devastating time for all airlines.

“It’s a major crisis for our industry.  Airlines have seen demand fall by half or more,” says Perry Flint of the International Air Transport Association.

The Twin Cities will only see cuts in the number of flights, but the airline is stopping three routes from Portland. Those suspensions will last the summer.

These cuts are coming off of Sun Country having it's biggest route expansion in 2019 adding 19 new seasonal routes and 160 jobs.
