Authorities are still looking into the apparent drowning death of a teenager from Blaine.
The call came in to Anoka County sheriff's deputies around 8:00 p.m. Saturday from Coon Lake Beach.
The swimming area is located near the town of Columbus, close to the Carlos Avery State Wildlife Management Area.
A 17-year-old identified as Tim Cao Nguyn was reportedly swimming in the lake with friends when he began to struggle in deeper water.
He disappeared from the surface of the water, but was later found and taken to the lake's shore.
Emergency crews at the scene tried to revive the teenager, who was taken to HCMC, where he later died.
It's not known if any outside factors led to the fatality.
