Charges are filed against two teenagers in the shooting death of a Maple Grove man in northeast Minneapolis last week.
Hennepin County prosecutors say Steven Markey, 39, was sitting in his car near 14th Avenue and Tyler Street when the two, a 16 and 15 year old tried to rob him.
That's when the shots were fired, with Markey eventually driving his car into a building about a block away.
He later died of gunshot wounds
Police also believe the boys were involved in a car theft in St.Louis Park and a burglary in New Hope.
The 16-year-old is from Coon Rapids but no information is available on the 15-year-old.
Prosecutors are trying to get the charges waived to adult court.
