The first-place Minnesota Twins are luring fans to Target Field with deeply discounted tickets, even as low as $5. The offer, which also includes no processing fees, is available through 10 p.m. Thursday., but they might not make it that far.

"It's been unbelivable," Twins President Dave St. Peter said on the WCCO Morning News with Dave Lee Thursday. "I think we'll be north of 30,000 of those tickets sold later. We'll likely sell out all of the additional inventory we put out last night."

St. Peter says there are still some discounted tickets left for this weekend's series against the Detroit Tigers.

The Twins enter Thursday's off-day 11 games over .500 coming off a dominating series against the Toronto Blue Jays.

The May schedule includes games with the Tigers, Angels, White Sox and Brewers.

Weather has not been kind to the Twins this spring, which is likely a factor in the team ranking 23rd (of 30 MLB teams) in average attendance entering Wednesday:

You can’t make this up, the weather gets perfect the minute the #MNTwins leave town.Tomorrow’s NYC temperature is 70. Tuesday is 71.Today was 51 degrees. It’s the 16th time in 32 games the Twins have played in 51 or lower.
