— Minnesota Twins (@Twins) July 5, 2020Sano is expected to start at first base and hold a middle of the lineup position and provide a powerful bat around an already stacked lineup of power hitters that includes Nelson Cruz and new third baseman Josh Donaldson. Sano hit .247 with 34 home runs and 70 RBIs in the 2019 season that saw him play 105 games.
This good news follows the Twins news yesterday that centerfielder Byron Buxton, who was carted off the field during an intrasquad game on Monday, is day-to-day with a mild foot sprain.
The Twins season 60-game opens up on Saturday, July 25th in Chicago. You can hear all 60 games on News Talk 830 WCCO.
