After a teammate called her teenage son a racist term, this mom looks at the root of the problem

While Sheletta's son was participating in a middle school basketball tournament, one of the teenagers on the his own team called him an "out of control" monkey when he lost control of the ball. 

But how did the player, who is white, learn to use racist language? His parents said it wasn't from them. When asked by school officials,  he said he learned the language online. 

KARE 11 Sunrise anchor Lauren Leamanczyk joined the Two Haute Mamas podcast to explain how hate speech can find kids online even if they aren't looking for it.

Leamanczyk recently did a story on this phenomenon and says it can have a negative impact on a child's brain development and their values.
