It's been awhile.
So long that there were hopes winter would pass us by for once.
No luck there.
"It'll be an inch or two," said WCCO's Paul Douglas about Tuesday morning's snowfall. "Just enough to grease up some roads."
Paul said the snow could taper off by mid-afternoon.
Tuesday's winter weather advisory remains in effect until noon in an area from Hastings north to Cambridge.
For those who need a refresher, a winter weather advisory means periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties.
That includes slippery roads and limited visibility, and if you're driving anywhere in the affected area, be cautious and you'll have a better chance arriving unscathed to your destination.
After the snow comes the cold.
"An arctic cold front arrives Thursday, those winds gusting up to 25 miles per hour," said Paul, adding that the winds will make it feel like up to 20 degrees below zero.
"A little light snow may streak south of the metro by Friday," he said. "It's still early to figure out exactly where that snowy stripe will set up."
