PHOTOS: What a packed Minneapolis soccer bar looked like as fans cheered the US women to World Cup victory
Minnesota soccer fans that didn't travel over 4,200 miles to France to witness the United States women's soccer team face the Netherlands in the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup could be found Sunday morning at soccer bars across the metro, including Brit's Pub in downtown Minneapolis.
The bar reached capacity before kickoff. With over 400 people inside, a line snaked down the block for those still waiting to get in.
"I'm a little worried," Gejosten said. "I think the U.S. is the better team. If Holland plays the way the can, we could make a good game out of it."
Among the USA fans was Merrit Erickson from Golden Valley.
"Everyone's excited for the game, even if it's a little early in the morning," she said. "Everyone's excited for USA to take the win."
The US won 2-0, claiming their second straight World Cup title and fourth title overall.
