
When he was still a player, Minnesota United head coach was considered among the best soccer players in Europe.
Now, he'll get to coach against the side that he helped lead to glory on the pitch.
On July 20, Everton Football Club dons their historic blue-and-white kits on American soil when they take on Minnesota United at Allianz Field in St. Paul.
Everton is based in Liverpool, with a history that dates back to 1878 and has won nine English championship and have taken the coveted FA Cup five times.
Heath was part of an FA Cup championship Blues team during during his seven years playing for Everton, scoring 94 goals in 308 appearances between 1982 and 1988.
“Everyone knows my feelings towards the club, the best thing that happened in my football life was playing for Everton," said Heath. "I couldn’t be more excited to welcome them to Minnesota."
In 2018, Heath was elected to the Everton Giants, players considered among the greatest in team history.
Tickets go on sale to the general public on May 23, but fans can buy them quicker if they pick up a Big Game Bundle Package.
They'll have to hurry, though.
Everton is considered one of the most popular English football team among soccer fans in the United States.
“As well as using the incredible facilities in preparation for next season, this visit will give us an opportunity to connect with our proud and passionate US fanbase," said Everton manager Frank Lampard.
In advance of the general public on-sale, Itasca Society Members and Season Ticket Members receive special early-access to tickets for the Everton match beginning Wednesday morning.
