The NCAA has unveiled the official logo of the 2022 women's basketball Final Four, exactly one year and one month before the semifinal round is scheduled to take place at Target Center in downtown Minneapolis.
The logo features a depiction of the historic Stone Arch Bridge, which spans the Mississippi River not far from where the games will be played April 1 and 2, 2022.
The river itself is shown flowing beneath the arches, along with a compass overlaying an orange basketball.
Four separate stars are at the top of the logo, one for each team, alongside brackets to indicate the end of the road to the Final Four.
This is the second time Target Center has hosted the women's Final Four, the first one coming in 1995.
In that tournament, Connecticut won its first-ever women's hoops national crown, beating Tennessee in the final.
The Huskies, who finished that season 35-0, now have 11 national championships.
The other teams that played in the 1995 women's Final Four were Stanford and Georgia.
The 2021 women's basketball Final Four is scheduled for April 2 and 4 in San Antonio
