The Minnesota State High School League called off Monday's four state baseball championship games because of rain and poor field conditions.

All four games, scheduled to be played at Target Field in downtown Minneapolis, will now be played on Friday, June 21.

In a statement posted on social media, officials say that "The League is greatly appreciative of the partnership with the Minnesota Twins for making Target Field available."

Erich Martens, MSHSL executive director, told Vineeta Sawkar on the WCCO Morning News that they had been considering other options for the games, including moving them to either Chaska or Jordan.

CHS Field is not an option because the minor-league St. Paul Saints are home for the rest of the week to play Toledo.

The schedule has Parkers Prairie facing Springfield for the 1A championship, followed by Rockford and Foley in 2A.

The 3A final is Mahtomedi versus Totino-Grace, with East Ridge playing Mounds View for the 4A championship.

The state baseball tournament ends the year for Minnesota State High School League competition.
