The Timberwolves' relationship with WCCO radio is continuing and expanding.
The team announced Friday an extension with WCCO for game broadcasts through 2023.
“As an organization, our goal is to bring Timberwolves fans programming that's entertaining and innovative,” said Wolves and Lynx CEO Ethan Casson. “As one of the top stations in the country with a tremendous history of Minnesota basketball, we are thrilled to announce a new partnership that includes new multi-channel distribution and fresh initiatives that will entertain fans for years to come.”
The agreement includes streaming game broadcasts on digital radio and on-line, with Alan Horton's play-by-play now going out on the Timberwolves' mobile app as well as WCCOradio.com; Radio.com and 102.1 HD-2.
New this season, NewsTalk 830 WCCO has provided expanded coverage with exciting and unique programming featuring both Timberwolves and WCCO personalities.
WCCO on-air talent includes Chad Hartman, the voice of the Timberwolves from 1990 to 2006, Cory Hepola, Timberwolves insider Henry Lake, Dave Lee, who has extensively covered MN Basketball throughout his career, and Mike Max, long-time Minnesota sports reporter and anchor.
You can hear the Wolves Friday tonight on WCCO radio against Oklahoma City, with coverage beginning at 6:30 p.m.
