The Twins are sitting one of their biggest stars for game 2 of the American League Wild Card Series.
Centerfielder Byron Buxton is out of today's lineup. Buxton played in yesterday's game 1 of the ALWCS, but manager Rocco Baldelli says Buxton is not 100% healthy and won't be able to start in today's game. Buxton sat the last two games of the regular season after being hit in the head with a pitch and showing concussion symptoms.
Twins prospect Alex Kirilloff will make the start today, replacing Buxton. Kirilloff is the first player in MLB history to make his major league debut in a post season game.
