Well, this is a little awkward....
WCCO Radio's parent company, Audacy, has a sports department. They put out their 2022 ratings for baseball stadiums...and it ruffled the feathers of the WCCO Radio staff.
It started with WCCO Radio management and we just rolled our eyes. The host of Lake Night, Henry Lake decided to take to the air over where they decided to put our beloved Target Field...21st!
"This is ridiculous. This is where we're upset," Lake proclaimed. "How in the world is Target Field not a top-10 ballpark? This is insane."
As Minnesotans, we love Target Field. There's nothing more perfect than a beautiful summer night at 1 Twins Way watching the hometown nine with a great local beer. The surprising thing is, many national entities also know how great Target Field is. Like, NBC Sports (#14), USA Today (#7), FOX Sports (#6), Bleacher Report (#7), Thrillist (#9), Athlon Sports (#8) and Ballpark Digest (#4).
"We need to get in contact with the guy who put this list together," Lake continued. "It's terrible."
