St. Paul Saints face the Iowa Cubs at the Field of Dreams Tuesday

Saints play-by-play broadcaster Sean Aronson says he was sure to get all of his game prep done ahead of arriving in Dyersville, Iowa on Tuesday.

"You can check out everything. You can see the sights, and hear the sounds, and just take it all in before you really have to get down to business," he says. "And that was a big goal for myself."

Regardless of the venue, every game right now is big for the St. Paul Saints, who're 19 games over .500 and just one game out of a playoff spot.

"This is something I've never done and something that a lot of people will never get to do," Aronson adds. "So I feel extremely fortunate to broadcast the game from the Field of Dreams site in Dyersville."

Aronson says it'll be a special moment, made even bigger because the Saints still have a lot to play for.

"We've been playing great baseball and so you don't want to not play your best today," he explains. "Because it's sort of a jewel event as they call it, and then look back as the one game that if you had just won, that maybe you would have gotten to the playoffs."

Aronson says players had this date circled even before the season started.

"This is a big deal," he tells WCCO. "Anytime, look, the season is long. We play 150 games in the minor league season. So anytime you can kind of break up the day-to-day with something that's extremely unique. It gives everybody a little extra juice as you get towards the end of the season."

Tuesday night's MiLB at Field of Dreams game gets underway at 6:30 p.m. and airs lives on MLB Network.

Of course that leads into Thursday's Field of Dreams MLB game between the Minnesota Twins and Philadelphia Phillies, also at 6:30 p.m. That game is exclusively airing on Netflix, but you can still hear it live on 830 WCCO, and via the Audacy app (in-market only).
